MUCH TO CELEBRATE AT THE ANNUAL CLUB LUNCH
On Saturday 6th July 2024 the Club held its annual lunch on campus at Harper Adams. Around 70 former students gathered in QMH for a two-course lunch followed by tours of facilities, both new and old. Among the herd was a group from the 1971-74 cohort, celebrating fifty years since leaving College.
Before guests tucked in to their lunch a few presentations were made. On behalf of the Club, Vice-President Charlie Wright presented Honorary Club Presidents Ros Barsley and Simon Jones with a caricature each, in recognition of the many decades of support the pair had made to the Club Committee.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ken Sloan, also made a surprise announcement, awarding Club Stalwart Ros Barsley with the Vice-Chancellors Medal. In his speech, Prof. Sloan highlighted Ros’s incredible record of commitment and support to Harper Adams. Being the first female student to study Agriculture in 1970, Ros went on to join the Harper Adams Club Committee in 1979 and has remained on the committee ever since. In that time, Ros has served as Club President on three separate occasions and was a founding member of the Harper Adams Development Trust in 2005.
